Welder

Job Summary: Responsible for joining metal surfaces through the use of MIG and TIG welding processes.

Looking for Candiadates Available: 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Follow quality and safety guidelines
  • Build or assist in creating fixtures for production
  • Maintain or improve on standard times for weld jobs
  • Ensure proper material is being used
  • Train new employees in weld shop where applicable
  • Work in association with the Quality Assurance Department to ensure proper quality
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow instructions of shift supervisor/group leader
  • Report all scrap / set-up / non-conforming pieces
  • Initiate continuing improvements in areas of assigned responsibility to improve quality, decrease lead times, enhance productivity and maintain safety and health

Experience: Minimum 2 years of related experience.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Welding certifications preferred.

Specialized Skills, Training or Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Strong knowledge of TIG and MIG welding
  • Strong knowledge of plasma and / or torch cutting
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push and pull up to fifty pounds
  • Ability to regularly stand and walk
  • Ability to regularly perform fine finger and hand activity

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a production plant environment with limited exposure to elements such as dust, noise, fumes or temperature changes, and with limited exposure to mechanical, electrical, fire, chemical, or other hazards.
